Conway: Brands Hatch GP can 'turn it on' for home race

Sevenoaks, Kent, UK
18 August 2006

Kent racing driver Mike Conway says he believes his home circuit of Brands Hatch will produce some impressive racing for its spectators and his supporters, who will be out in force for the upcoming rounds of the British Formula 3 International Series next weekend.

Following his awesome showing in four adrenalin-filled races at the Grand Prix circuits of Spa and Silverstone, Conway says the GP circuits make for the best racing for drivers and audiences alike. The Sevenoaks driver first raced at Brands' famous GP circuit in 2001 and hopes this year`s F3 event will attract a strong turnout.

"It's great the British F3 is back at Brands after a year's hiatus. We want to show we're a good series and hopefully bring some good racing and some good crowds to the weekend," the championship leader said.

The Räikkönen Robertson driver said the circuit was looking sharp when he went around there in a road car this week: "The GP circuit is a real challenge with quite different sets of corners: Paddock Hill and the corners out the back look really good."

Conway said he was looking forward to having his supporters turn out en masse to the double header on Sunday: "All my UK-based partners will be there: Toshiba, Sparshatts of Kent, Claridon, Stingray Media Solutions, Armourfend, FM Conway, THB Clowes and of course Sutton Images, plus all my family and friends from the area, so it's going to be a memorable weekend."
