Dreyer & Reinbold Racing Motivated for Barber

7 Apr 2010

Dreyer & Reinbold Racing is extremely motivated after a successful first two races at Brazil and St. Petersburg. The team is ready to carry their momentum again into this weekend as they hope to continue their success on the road courses. This will mark DRR's first time to compete at the 2.38-mile picturesque circuit as the IZOD IndyCar Series added Barber Motorsports Park to the 2010 schedule. Luckily, the team has two road racing pros, Mike Conway (No. 24 Roll Coater), and Justin Wilson (No. 22 Charter), competing for them.

Coming off of DRR's best result since team co-owner Robbie Buhl won in 2000 at Walt Disney World Speedway, Justin Wilson came home with a 2nd place result for the organization in St. Petersburg, Florida last week. Wilson signed with the team in January and has shown that he is a force to be reckoned with. He started competing in the IZOD IndyCar Series in 2008 and since then he has won on a street course (2008 Belle Isle) and a road course (2009 Watkins Glen). Wilson has also qualified in every Firestone Fast Six since 2008, except for one (2009 Edmonton), which makes a total of ten Firestone Fast Six Qualifying sessions he has advanced to. So far this season, he is on the same roll, as he started third in Brazil and fourth in St. Petersburg. On road and street courses, he qualified in the top-5 five times. Heading into the third round this weekend, Wilson is currently tied for second in points in the championship.

Ready to get back to his racing roots is team veteran, Mike Conway. The Briton has an impressive road racing resume coming from the British F3 championship and the GP2 Series to name a few. Last year Conway proved he was right at home on the road/street courses as he qualified in the fast six twice (Watkins Glen, Toronto) and scored his first podium at Infineon Raceway last year. Conway is fully focused and prepared to make a mark at this year's inaugural event.

As the IZOD IndyCar Series heads into the third round this weekend at Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, Alabama, Dreyer & Reinbold Racing is excited to have Roll Coater as the primary sponsor on the No. 24 chassis of Mike Conway and Charter Media on the No. 22 machine of Justin Wilson.

Dreyer & Reinbold Racing will be on track for the Indy Grand Prix of Alabama Presented by Legacy Credit Union in Birmingham, Alabama on April 11th. The qualifying broadcast will air live on Saturday, March 13th at 2:00 pm (EDT) on VERSUS. The race telecast will air live on Sunday, April 11th at 3:00 pm (EDT) on VERSUS. The race will air live on the IMS Radio Network, XM channel 145, and Sirius channel 211. For more updates on the team, please visit www.dreyerreinboldracing.com.

What they have to say about the Indy Grand Prix of Alabama:

Justin Wilson, Charter No. 22 DRR: "The goal for Barber is to be quick in qualifying, start at the front and not make any mistakes. I think that if we can do that, we can finish on the podium again and that's what it comes down to. It's going to be a very hard place to pass and we need to be consistently quick the whole weekend. It's a great driver's track, very picturesque and a fantastic facility for the fans. I'm expecting a good turnout and I think it's going to be a great weekend."

Mike Conway, No. 24 Roll Coater: " I think Barber should be okay for us. We had a bit of a struggle at the test and towards the end we got a good balance. I'm looking forward to going back. I think Justin and I will be quick there and I'm looking for a good, strong finish."
